What a treat we have in store as Make Space Create, funded by Arts Council England and Culture Liverpool bring a magical and spellbinding children and family arts area to LIMF this year.
The Family Zone will be an engaging and interactive space with exciting installations and environments for children of all ages to play and create together.
Featuring a brand new live art element, international sand sculptor and artist Zara Gaze, known for her Sandalism works, will create a sand sculpture which will be live-carved over the LIMF weekend and take inspiration from the beach and seaside.
British Music Experience (BME) will be offering hands-on musical workshops in their Open Jamming sessions and families will have the chance to design and create their own graffiti t-shirts.
New to LIMF this year and working in partnership with Incredible Oceans and Institute of Physics will be the Incredible Oceans installation. Within the ocean dome will be hands-on water and ocean physics experiments for children and a silent disco with tracks that illustrate and talk about the physics acoustics properties of underwater sounds.
Among the other attractions, this year LIMF will feature a double-decker with Arriva housing family arts and activities, the welcome return of the ever-popular beach, arts and craft workshops, a new-look Festival Vibe area to get festival face painting with Fabarooney and the Game Zone. Over the weekend, there will also be circus workshops and performances from Freefall Circus. Funny Looking Kids will be performing cabaret and there will be street theatre from Bread & Butter Theatre and Artemis.
